Functionalized Magnetic Nano-Adsorbent For Efficient Wastewater Treatment During Coronavirus Pandemic

The invention presents a new adsorbent is synthesized via a rapid and straightforward process for wastewater treatment. The incorporation of cellulose with polyethyleneimine (PEI) and magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) offers extra advantages to the adsobent properties such as high adsorption capacity and easy for recovery using external magnetic field. The Magsorb can treat wastewater effectively in wide range of solution pH (2-9) and temperature (27℃-70℃). Therefore, this stable characteristic is very crucial and beneficial in water treatment application for most environmental pH and temperature conditions. A simple preparation process of the adsorbent combined with its excellent adsorption capacity and magnetic separation properties makes the adsorbent (Magsorb) as the best technology to be used in wastewater treatment, especially during COVID-19 pandemic.
