Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. The main aim of this project is to design a device to protect frontlines/doctors when they intubate Covid-19 patients. The device function to avoid droplet spillage from the patient to the doctor/medic personnel during the procedure. The micro-droplet from Covid-19 patient which contains the viruses could be released into the air and be hazardous to the frontlines treating the patient. This enclosure concept is adopted from equipment that is used to treat patients who have contracted infectious virus/diseases, such as aerosol boxes and Individual Patient Isolation Systems (Isopods). The device is expected to produce with low cost as this meant to disposal after a single use. The result would be significant to help the frontlines with a safe and a feasible device in this critical time.
