1. Contact the Organisers

Let us know the number of entries that you would like to submit. Confirm your participation with payment.

3. Awards Briefing

Confirmed participants will receive a video on what jurors are looking for to guide them toward making a comprehensive submission.

5. Event Duration

The event will be held from 18-20 December 2024 virtually and will remain live for an extended period for visitors.

2. Submit your entries

After payment, submit your entries via our online submission system. Submit your entries before the submission deadline.

4. Online Evaluation

Evaluation by jurors will be made online. Jurors will contact participants for interviews only if they require more information.

6. Results Announcement

Results will be announced virtually on 20 December 2024 and published on the event website as well as the platform.
  1. Entries must be submitted to the online awards submission system by 20 November 2024 – 23:59 (GMT+8). There will be no extensions granted under any circumstances.
  2. There are 6 Award Categories. Entries must be submitted into the category best described and most relevant to your innovation. If an incorrect category is selected, the Awards Committee reserves the right to disqualify the entry.
  3. As a guideline, Innovations submitted for this competition should pertain directly to innovative concepts, ideas, or initiatives within the realm of sustainable energy and green technology. This encompasses advancements aimed at the generation, conservation, and efficient utilization of eco-friendly energy sources, as well as groundbreaking solutions for the improvement of environmental sustainability. We are available to assist you in identifying the most suitable category for your entry or entries.
  4. Entry fees must be made in full upon submission of entries using online banking transfer or via local cheque. Payment is non-refundable.
  5. Awards entry submissions, interviews, and communications between participants and jurors (if any) will be in English.
  6. The Organiser restricts content that involves nudity, all forms of violence and exploitation, the cruelty of animals, etc. This restriction is due to the diversity in age and cultural backgrounds of our global audience. All content must be appropriate for a general audience. Any inappropriate content submitted by participants will be duly removed without notice to the participant.
  7. The submitted content can be expressed in words, images, sounds or a combination of any, to enable efficient delivery of the critical messages to the judges. Each submission must include items (a) to (d) as explained below:
    a. Synopsis of work/innovation (200 words – MS Word document)
    b. Minimum one video (HD 1080p, max 5 mins). A Youtube link is recommended.
    c. Photo (minimum 1 – jpg format, max 2MB)
    d. Detailed written description of the innovation (PDF – about 500 words)
  8. The online awards submission system allows participants to submit additional supporting documents such as PowerPoint presentations and other documents.
  9. The Organisers reserve the right to the use of photos, videos, synopsis, and write-ups that participants have provided in the online awards submission system for the purpose of the promotion of MTE 2024: Sustainable Energy and Green Technology International Innovation Awards and publicity of your innovation and participation
  10. The same entry may be submitted into multiple product categories. If you wish to enter your innovation in more than one category, you will need to repeat the online submission process for every category that you choose. For example, if you are submitting one innovation for 3 different categories, you will be required to make 3 online submissions. An entry fee is applicable for each submission.
  11. Entries must meet ALL the following requirements BEFORE they are qualified for judging:
    a. All required sections and fields of the online entry application form are completed.
    b. All requirements of above item 7 are fulfilled.
    c. Supported by full payment. Full payment must be made by 20 November 2024.
    d. Incomplete and unpaid entries will be disqualified. The participant is solely responsible for ensuring that their submission is complete.
  12. The jury will evaluate entries submitted in the online submission system. Jurors may request more information at any time to support validation which might include online interviews, emails, or telephone calls.
  13. The jury’s decisions are final and no appeal will be entertained.
  14. Results will be announced on 20 December 2024 on MTE 2024: Sustainable Energy and Green Technology International Innovation Awards’ virtual platform.
  15. MTE 2024: Sustainable Energy and Green Technology International Innovation Awards will take place virtually over 3 days. During this period, visitors will contact participants through our virtual platform via a messaging app and email.
  16. Medals and certificates will be shipped to all winners.
  17. By participating in these Awards, each participant/exhibitor undertakes to guarantee that all information, documentation, and media content submitted are original, accurate and that there is no violation or infringement of the intellectual property and copyright law. Participant(s) is/are solely responsible and liable for any violation or infringement of intellectual property rights or copyright laws. PROTEMP Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn. Bhd. and all stakeholders for this event assume no liability for any form of IP or copyright infringement by participants.

The International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Green Technology 2023 (SEGT 2023)

SEGT 2023 is an upcoming event focused on sustainable energy research and technology, highlighting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and cleaner fossil-fuel technology in support of sustainable development goals. It encourages international collaboration, fostering the exchange of innovative ideas among academics, engineers, scientists, and practitioners, all working towards the achievement of SDGs. He graduated with Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London, UK in 1992. The continued his study at Master and PhD level at University of Cambridge, UK and University of Birmingham, UK in 1994 and 1997. He joined UNITEN in 1997 and has served as Head of Mechanical Engineering, Dean of Engineering, Deputy Vice Chancellor (KSHAS), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs, Alumni & Management) and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research). Prior to joining UNITEN, he worked at TNB Research & Development Department. His area of research is Thermofluids covering Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Turbomachinery, Heat Transfer and energy related studies.

Kamarulzaman Kamaruddin received bachelor’s degree (1992) in Biochemistry, specializing in Clinical and Industrial Molecular Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Biochemical Engineering (1993), from the University of Manchester.

In 1993, he joined Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) and was a Senior Researcher in Molecular Microbiology, Enzymology and Industrial Biotechnology, until 2012. His research experience and expertise include Molecular Microbiology, Molecular Pharmacogenomics for Secondary Metabolites, Molecular Enzymology for the synthesis of Nano based Biomaterials (Cyclodextrin and Nano Cellulose); and Industrial Biotechnology (Bioreactor Design)

After being promoted to as a Consultant in 2012, in SIRIM, he was given a responsibility in developing Technology Strategic Planning for SIRIM Group of Companies, mostly responsible for Technology Road Maps Planning (Biotechnology and Nanotechnology), including International Research Collaboration with KRIBB, South Korea and Fujisawa Pharmaceuticals, Japan; R&D Strategic Planning and STI Development.

In January 2014, he was seconded to National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC), under Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia; as Research & Technology / Product Development Section Head.

He was appointed as the Acting Director of National Nanotechnology Centre, for a year in 2019. Since early 2020, he is reappointed again as the Research & Technology / Product Development Section Head by the Government of Malaysia.

In early 2022, he re-joined SIRIM Berhad as a Consultant in the Group Strategic Planning Department, focusing on Rolling Plans Development for the SIRIM Group in alignment with the 12th Malaysia Plan.

Since July 2022, he has been serving as a Senior Consultant in SIRIM Tech Venture, a subsidiary of the SIRIM Group, mandated as the technology adaptation, transfer, and commercialization arm of the SIRIM Group.

Prof Dato' Dr Kamaruzzaman Sopian

Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Prof Dato’ Dr Kamaruzzaman Sopian graduated with the PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Dorgan Solar Laboratory, University of Miami-Coral Gables. He is currently the Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Universiti of PETRONAS. His main contributions are in solar radiation modeling and resource assessment, advanced solar photovoltaic systems (grid-connected photovoltaic, solar powered regenerative fuel cell, solar hydrogen production, thin film silicon solar cell) and advanced solar thermal systems (solar cooling, solar heat pump, solar assisted drying, combined photovoltaic thermal or hybrid collector). He has 15 patents, 15 patents pending, 6 copyrights, and 1 trademark for his innovation in renewable energy technology. The innovation and invention in renewable energy technology have won over 90 medals in national and international innovation and invention competitions including special innovation awards . He was conferred the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak by His Royal Highness The Sultan of Perak. A Fellow of the Malaysia Academy of Sciences and listed in the 2019 – 2022 Highly Cited Researchers by the Web of Science Group, Clarivate Analytics.
