Smart Tracking System (Real Time Tracker): Monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic Chain

Smart Tracking System is an application-based technology for smartphones (Android and iOS) and Web (Dashboard) developed by the Center for Computing and Informatics (CCI), University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) in order to detect staff and students’ location and update status on the current situation, include tracking on the epidemic chain COVID-19 infection during the Movement Control Order (MCO). The objectives of this system are to improve communication, surveillance and monitoring directly involving number of students and staffs from various locations whether at home, in campus (college residence in Taman Bendahara, Kemumin, Bachok and Jeli) and other locations. Through the smart tracking device, UMK would be able to track the location of its staff and student based on GPS coordinates as well as their health status, according to the COVID-19 pandemic chain reaction (Category A-E). Dashboard specially built for the monitoring, statistical analysis. The same data can also be analyzed and matched to the risk incurred by the Ministry of Health and planning requirements for implementing eLearning. “Smart Tracking System would be able to track the location of its staff and student based on GPS coordinates as well as their health status, according to the COVID-19 pandemic chain”.
