Student Learning Time Calculator Application (SLT CalApps) : Solving the CA issue during COVID-19 Pandemic

The academicians faced difficulty to prepare their teaching plan, specifically the Student Learning Time (SLT) and Constructive Alignment (CA) during the Movement Control Order in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the consultation process related to SLT and CA was conducted via face to face. However, to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 and following the SOP, this initiative had started and the SLT Calculator application (SLT CalApps) was developed. The SLT CalApps applied the “Evolutionary Prototype Model” for the development. This model was chosen because of two main factors, (i) to make sure the user engaged with the apps and (ii) to speed up the application development. The output of the innovation is to assist the academicians to plan their Teaching and Learning (TnL) activities and assessment, and, aligning the Course Learning Outcome (CLO), with the CA. The application was designed with the concept of user friendly with two interface options for the users and the results can be downloaded in PDF file for further use. The SLT CalApps complies with the Constructive Alignment (CA) and it is the first application which has this function. The SLT CalApps has completed all Technology Readiness Level and available at Google Playstore.
